After more than two years of dancing together, Birkir Örn Karlsson and Perla Steingrímsdóttir have decided to end their partnership. They are the Icelandic Youth Standard and Youth Latin Champions 2012. Also Standard, Latin and 10 Dance Champions 2011 in Junior 2. They won every Icelandic Championship they participated in during 2011 in Standard, Latin and 10 dance. They have represented Iceland in four WDSF World Championships and were 16th in WDSF 10 Dance Championship in Barcelona 2011 and were second in North European Latin Championships 2011. In 2011, Perla was honored to be the first Icelandic dancer to receive a special award from the Icelandic Sports and Olympics federation together with a substantial money prize. Perla is the youngest Icelandic athlete ever to receive this prestigious award, she is born in 1997.
Perla would like continue her dancing career at the highest level, and is currently searching for a new partner.
