onyourtoes Joined on 12 Feb 2007 Total posts: 657	Re: The INDEPENDENCE & AUTONOMY of IPDSC Monday, 06 April 2009 09:17 At the IPDSC Annual General Meeting the minutes show that Mr Brian McDonald of DanceSport America asked to be assured that the independence and autonomy of the IPDSC was being preserved which assurance Mr Peter Maxwell the President gave. Meanwhile at the IDSF Annual General Meeting Mr Allert from Germany expressed his surprise that Germany was on the IPDSC list as a member when Germany had not applied for membership. Mr Allert also asked for confirmation that only members or bodies that IDSF approve are able to be members of IPDSC. The IDSF President Mr Freitag confirmed that under the IPDSC Statutes IDSF members must be asked to approve the IPDSC members as agreed. This certainly does not meet my interpretation of "independence and autonomy" and I am slighlty surprised that Mr McDonald sees it as IPDSC being self governed.

Brian MacDonald is a little late in asking for independence and autonomy from the IPDSC. As the IDSF press release (March 13, 2008) stated the IPDSC and IDSF agreed on mutual support for IPDSC's and IDSF'S collaborative growth and development. Cooperation and collaboration mean working together. Autonomy means being able to make decisions independently and not influenced by another organization. IPDSC from the beginning was never formed with that intention.

When it is to late, far far to late the IPDSC will realise the foolishness of their ways.At this moment in time they are the toys in the IDSF nursery to be played with.

Mr. McDonald is usually politically very astute; It is so hard to believe that he accepted Mr.Maxwell's word when the actions of the organisation are in complete contrast to the message. Surely, Actions Speak Louder than words!

It does not appear to be NDCA. I started a thread previously calling it a secret organization. No one offered to provide any info. It seems it really is secret.

That is why he is representing the NDCA (a member of the WDC) and also supporting IDSF and IPDSC. It is easy to sit on the fence and play both sides until it becomes clear who is the obvious winner. With the IDSF's attrocious decision recently, it should be obvious who has the political "Good Will" of the "Dancers". We all know that the IPDSC is a political puppet of the IDSF. A meaningless organization with nobody of any calibre in it. Purely a bargaining chip. Surely, in light of recent developments with Mirko Gozzoli and the tragic decision of the Italian and Russian Amateurs, along with the IDSF, over Junior Blackpool, it should be clear to the NDCA that backing the WDC is the way to go...It is only a matter of time before Arunas is the REAL (WDC) World Champion. The USA will have a WDC World Champion. A World Champion in the Championship where the best in the world compete. The World Championship that truly matters....Is the U.S.A. going to denegrate that??????????? I think not!. Let's see how astute Mr. mcDonald is then. Can the two at the top, get over their pride and silly dispute with Donnie to support Arunas and Katusha???? I think so!

The representative for USA is Dance Sport America. The only thing that seems to be known about Dance Sport America it the name of its representative on the IPDSC. The same individual is president of NDCA. But NDCA is not a member of IPDSC. What about conflict of interest? Further, also with respect to the membership, one would assume their Presidium members must belong to one of their member organizations. But one of the VP's who, according to the bio provided, is a high-ranking official with WDC, NDCA and American Ballroom Company. He does not include Dance Sport America? Yet it would appear that since the other organizations he lists are not members of the IPDSC then whom does he belong to? It's confusing. I'm not even sure what organization the IPDSC President represents?
