The start list for THE Worlds 10 Dance Professional Championship taking place 2nd October has just become available.

 

The 23 programmed competitors are

Should be a great and exciting competition and one especially interesting for Canada and Canadian Bulgarians.

The reigning Champions from USA Gherman Mustuk  & Iveta Lukosiute will be defending their title and having just reached the German Open Standard Final are showing good form. Several others also had good GOC results so excitment will be high.

Thanx on yourtoes.  Several previous finalists and some new comers there.  Will be interesting to see how the Italian Couple who finished 5th in the 2008 IDSF World Amateur 10 dance place here.

Just a suggestion: can you not post a link to the competitors list? Then when I feel aggrieved that Barry Winters is listed as Garry I know who to be irritated with!

I suspect there are more typos in that list. I'm going to google for the info.

Seriously, I do think that is more helpful to post links to sources of information than just to copy/paste. For example there is a recent thread talking about WDC videos: no link. It would be much more valuable if there was a link.

smd.  I apologise for errors in both Barry and Hollys names.  Be irritated with me I dont mind!.

All spellings now checked against dancesportinfo.net listings (and those are the most accurate records I know).  Just maybe this will be the first event ever with all correct names - if there is still time for print corrections. 

Two of the lady competitors surname spellings are different to dancesportinfo records but in accordance with the WDC Competitors Register. 

Sorry you are offended by my not giving you a link.  I received the names in a private email following some mails I sent. To me the important thing was to get the news out there.

Thanks on your toes.  It will be interesting to see how the new to the Pro ranks the Italian couple Cannizzaro/Junkere finish.  They were 5th in the 2008 IDSF World 10 Dance so pretty handy 10 dancers.

It will be difficult for Mustuc / Lukosiute. Cannizzaro / Junkure already better at GOC 2009.

GOC 2009 WDC Series Professional results:

    Mustuc / Lukosiute:    STANDARD 6°   +    LATIN 21°   =  27

Cannizzaro / Junkure:    STANDARD 8°   +    LATIN 16°   =  24
