Mr Maxwell stands down as IPDSC President

Wednesday, 26 August 2009 07:03

Now comes the news that Mr Peter Maxwell is stepping down as President of IPDSC.  He advises the Acting President Daniele Tondon of Italy to replace him.  Italy , Italy, Tondon Galvagno , perhaps that IPDSC should be Italian Professional Dance Sport Council!

Easy to report on the news if you only read the headlines. Maybe if you take time to read the whole article on the IPDSC website instead of writing ridicuolous statements, you might consider writing how sorry you feel that one of dancesports past and important champions has health problems.

manrio did you knot know about the health problems until now?

Did you not notice you can also read these words

I have, also, been offered some commercial opportunities that, health allowing I would like to explore, as and when I can at my own pace.
I have also been asked to assist another organisation in its set up and advancement.

manrico

one of dancesports past and important champions

----

manrico I simply stated the fact that the gentleman had stood down.  I too thought most people in the dancesports world were aware of the health problems. Of course there is sympathy on the health issue but that has been there for a long time.

I would say that almost all past world champions have been important and contributed to development of DanceSport especially the WDC Champions.  Sticking with Latin what I remember is that Donnie Burns & Gaynor Fairweather achieved 14 World titles. Bryan Watson & Carmen 9,   Alan & Hazel Fletcher  5.  Maxwell & Harman were champions in 1976 only  and In  77 and 78 they finished runners up to Fletchers.

I also accept that Maxwell/harman were World 10 Champions in 1976 and runners up to Hirotada  & Yoko Torii from Japan in 1977.  I set that against the 5 wins of David Sycamore &  Denise Weavers.

Manrico do you remeber this

Peter Maxwell to Step Down as Grand Slam Chair, Increase His Work for IDJTA
...
"Mr. Maxwell is convinced that it is important at this time to dedicate more of his energy to the many challenges facing Dance Sport worldwide, and that "to that end my work as Managing Director of the International Dancesport Judges & Trainers Association (IDJTA) requires even more attention and effort, making attendance at all the Grand Slam events a little difficult."

IDJTA, IPDSC, how many more other organisations and new ventures?

What can you tell us about IDJTA after Mr Maxwell dedictated his attention and effort?

Are you not tired of reading about some obscure "Royal Family " connections ? A family who would be unknown but for Grace Kelly.

In my experience what people do not say is more important than what they do say

In business, people often "stand down" or "retire" officially when they are "asked to " do so unofficially.

I am reminded of a situation of a certain IDSF "Grand Slam" position and also a Chairman of a festival, all taking place in the dance world in recent times and just have cause to wonder....

At the German Open Championships just last week there was informed discussion in IDSF circles that a certain person was about to be asked to go, and that a Press Release was imminent.

Good luck to all.

Aside from the press statement everything else is just heresay.

And I don't see how this poor man's health problems have anything to do with the WDC "winning"...Winning what?

The royal family of Monaco is hardly unknown...together with some help from Spanish and Danish family they founded the Federal Bank of the USA, and to this day own a large proportion. Plus all the major influential organisations in the world are based in Monaco.

Are you part of the IDJTA? Do you know what they do?

What exactly is wrong with following commercial opportunities at a leisurely pace?

The IDSF Grand Slam series seems pretty successful...Could Peter have helped with it's development?

Would there be anything particularly wrong with stepping down when you feel you've helped enough? Could that possibly be a reality for another fabulous dancer who won 14 world titles (this is not intended ironically. He was a fabuolous dancer, but as far as I know he doesn't have a degree in political science or previous experience in managing international organisations)?

You don't need to respond to this, it is simply meant to stimulate your brain and in some cases discredit your previous statement.

Have a good day.
