Re: OLYMPICS WANT "THE BEST"

Thank you wooden_spoon, for a new contributor you are very observant, show good taste, and yourself made commendable and quite informed observations and comments.
Jazz's, even better comments are often changed, edited or deleted, especially when they are made in places of excessive censorship in a private member box. It is a shame - no, not the deletion. The censorship.
It appears the number of contributors who are concerned with the IDSF's method of leadership, the direction of IDSF train direction is growing. What troubles Jazz is that the number of these concerned contributors appears to be growing. Reading their past posts they either had been, have been, or are IDSF and long term supporters....
Their concerns probably mirror opinions of their dance friends and that of hundreds of dancesport enthusiasts ( who do not read here and do not contribute) , those who value, seek and are willing to pay admissions to see quality Ballroom, free of (excessive) politics, who may feel the inclusion of alternative dances - hip hop etc. is NOT what they paid for and came to see.
Jazz appreciates the kind Openeyes' reminder, and suggests that the essence of Openeyes' Olympics Want "The Best" topic has been pointed out by many others. When noted, at first, Jazz asked herself : Where have I seen this before ? If the topic redundant, or an off beat of another, may be confusing, and please do not be surprised if you get comments missing the heart of your Here and Now.
Jazz agrees with your comments, not minding it had been already suggested elsewhere.
IDSF had tried to find own identity through the perceived "ownership" of the term dancesport ( which has backfired as dancesport is in public domain and includes , unfortunately for IDSF ALL dance styles ) , distinguish themselves by their "dancesport" being recognized by IOC ( as long as IDSF abides by all IOC's Rules ), and then , when made aware they would have to include the Professionals, they created IPDSC, which has unfortunately / fortunately NOT attracted the best dancers - the very requirement of IOC, and the focus of your topic... hence, IDSF has failed, resorting to some off beat copies of Olympiad, whether in name ( Olympiad in Spain ) or in frequency ( and name ) , and using 'athletes' ignoring the amateur and professional status, ( every 4 years ) as in the 2009 World Games.
If only everyone could get of their high horse, bury the old hostility, show little modesty and appreciation for the ever so patient and loyal dancers who still support them - if for no other reason than that they want to continue to do what they love, and do not want to make too many waves in fear of reprisals.
Time for a new direction, time for more harmony, time for Ballroom to prosper, enough of posturing and proclaiming superiority on account of others.
Dances want WIN, WIN scenario, and so should those who exist, live, because the dancers and dance lovers support them.
