Amateur Dance Bodies

Thursday, 03 September 2009 13:38

IDSF loves to boast about how important it is and how it is "the only" . "The only" well this is not true in the eyes of many people in high places.

Here is a message sent by Angela Merkel the German Chancellor to the German Amateur Body DTA and The International Dance Sport Association IDASA which is steadily growing.

Germany  Berlin,
Federal Chancellor
Greetings
to the  DAT Dance Masters and
World Masters of International DanceSport Association (IDSA)

I sincerely congratulate all those, who take part in IDSA and DAT World Amateur Open competition, the organizers and not in the last turn the audience.
Der Bundesverband Deutscher Tanzlehrer e. V.  undertook the running of DAT sports competition in twelve different dance trends and 23 IDSA World Championships, which undoubtedly is a responsible task, and promises to be a worrying event as well. As the fight for  titles exists to attain the highest results in sports art, grace, elegance and accuracy get connected in an amazing way. Couples from all over the world show their mastery in more than 50 types of competition in different dance manners. Thus, for three days Mannheim will become a source, paradise for amateurs, experts and skilled dancers from every part of the world.
I want to thank all those, who were conducive with a great efficiency to the success of this sensational activity. I wish all the teams to get the expected sports success and the audience, too, to see an exciting and interesting competition.

Just a standard greeting by a polititian who probably bought  a page in a  program, in order to sponsor torism in her riding .

If the organizer is interested  they can get a whole bunch of vote hungry polititians say something nice, not understanding all the fine differencies, probably confusing IDSF and IDSA, at least unaware of the political siginficance .

I would not make too much of  such self serving proclamations of apreciation.

Sure knocks the IDSF claim "we are the only recognised".  Others are also recognised.

I somehow think Mrs Merkel is more astute than you give credit nina. She certainly was not purchasing a page in a programme .  Instead giving credit where credit was due.

Mannheim was BIG and hugely succesful.

never mind what IDSF says,  what counts is not what you say about yourself ( as you may be biased  )   far more  important is what others say about you .... in this case what others say  about IDSF, and  IDSF  needs no huge ears to  hear the echo of spreading discontent, and of  displeasure.
