IDSF is branding their logo - being selfish, self serving, while unwisely accepting, even inviting risks of back lash .
No difference from a meat processor promoting their brand .
Take for example the brand "Maple Leaf ."
Shopper walking into a store, see a great variety and a selection of wonderful salamis, processed meat products , but only Maple Leaf section has a special display with a Photograph of the inventor, the associated Maple Leaf Logo in prescribed colours, packaging.
Shops not willing to accept the Maple Leaf products display and the Photograph just cannot sell the Maple Leaf sausage. ( so far the consumers are not forced , in place of a blessing say, we consume this Maple Leaf sausage for the Glory of meat products and of a Pig )
No big deal, there are many other meat products equal in quality and some much better, some may not even make you sick and are not associated with the deadly listeria bacteria contamination.
"....without drugs, in the true spirit of sportsmanship, for the glory of sport and the honour of the athletes "
Are the oaths by the Athletes and Adjudicators necessary ?
Do dancers dance for the glory of the sport ? Can adjudicators be completely impartial ?
Oath is supposed to be believable, oath is supposed to be followed ....
Is this charade supposed to resemble the Olympic Oath by the Athletes and by the Adjudicators ?
Is there any other sport, or sport organization which requires such a Fanfare ?
Tennis is a far more popular sport than dancesport . I do not recall Nadal repeating after someone that he plays tennis for the glory of "sport" rather then for the moneys, sponsorship, the recognition, the prices, in fact to make a living.
The best in the most of sports are Professionals who carry on with the sport to feed their families, for the glory of income.
A dancesport competitor could be insulted to be required to make such an oath, because if the oath is necessary it implies that dancers could be cheater, that they could be using drugs , and by making the pledge they say " we are the chosen who do not cheat and use drugs". What does it say about the rest of the dancers, that they may cheat ....?
Isn't Dancing a celebration of a freedom of movement ? For the "glory" of achieving harmony with a partner and celebration of movement to a rhythm ( dance ) , also celebrating the company of people who share similar interests ( dance) .
How does " true spirit of sportsmanship " differ from just a "spirit ...." ?
Do the dancers who meet Sundays afternoon with their friends sharing similar interest in dancesport, meet and socialize, practice dancing skills, ask members of opposite ( or same ) sex for a dance to honour athletes, for glory of sport ?
Facts: 1. Vegetarians live longer, are healthier than meat eaters
2. Raw meat is healthier than the processed products
3. You never know what goes in the processed meat loaf
4. There are so many great variety and great brands,
why not sample them to discover we can do without Maple Leaf.
YOU HAVE AN ALTERNATIVE :
1 Try another product
2. Inform the Shop owner you have discovered and prefer other than Maple Leaf sausage
The shop keeper may be pleased he/she recognized and can succesfuly sell other meats, and can get away with that space taking Maple Leaf Photograph, which promotes not his/her store , but Maple Leaf and all its glory.
( By the way, in real life many shopp keepers would rather never heard of Maple Leaf, and try desperately remove their products off their shelfs due to a disasterous listeria contamination resulting is several deaths - proof that excessive branding can fire back )
