atalah.  I do apologise.  I am not Czech.  A video was delivered to me by someone who knew my interest in dance.  They included a translation of some of the comments.  I reported what I was given however I now have checked and it was confirmed that it was stated "likely"  however I was told that the stress in the voice and words indicated that it was going to happen and it was the impression they they as non dancers formed..

Just as an aside the actual event  - during Samba Final  -is now available to view,  together with the commentary (in Czech),  here in the Video section.

Dizzery when I read your comments it seems to me that you have pre-ordained opinions on how people should be marked.  For you Bosco/Piton are always deserving a high place no matter how they dance.  Not everyone (me included) shares that view.

I have spoken to many non english dancers who believe the Blackpool result was right. I have spoken to many non english (and non German) dancers who say Karabeys danced beautifully at the German Open and thoroughly deserved their placing.

The roar of the crowd does not always indicate the best dancers.

At the German Open it was not an "English" board as you seem to suggest.

To my knowledge Bosco/Piton have not yet competed in an IPDSC event but they have danced in 4 Professional events, the Embassy Ball in USA and 3 WDC World Ranking events.  Please remember it was the IPDSC who stated that they would not allow their members to dance in their Professional events and then return to dance in IDSF Amateur events so  they would have disapproved of the World Games performance if indeed Bosco/Piton had joined them.

All this though takes away from the content of the topic -  the superb panel of judges that the WDC Am League World Championship will have on duty.  Every one a champion and so many World Champions and all with the confidence to mark "out of the norm" if that is what they believe they see on the night.

webminder I am not sure what you are trying to convey but lets remember that it was this "out of norm" marking that for instance

a) At their first appearance outside the USA and only their second competition gave Bizokas/Demidova instant stardom with their 2nd place finish at the UK Open. No one had  anticipated this beforehand.

b) At their first outing January 1999 made a certain Kryllklvvy/Leunis winners of the UK Open Rising Stars and finalists in the following Blackpool taking 5th place.  In between they  had finished 15th in an IDSF Open. Of course in 2000 they became Blackpool Champions 16 months after their first competition.

It is judges with experience, knowledge and confidence to do this and at the 2009 WWDC AL World Championships the couples will dance before exactly those people.
